How to Change a PCV Valve
I own a 2001 Honda Accord LX 4-cyl and it has 85000 miles. Whenever I start my car I hear the sound of my car’s idling coughing a little bit. I start to wonder what is wrong with my car. I checked all the maintenance trips to my dealer, and they are all good. Then, I opened my Haynes Auto Manual and read through the maintenance routine. It says, “Check PCV valve every 60,000 miles.” WOW! Mine is way over due! Good thing my car didn’t breakdown yet.
Then, I surfed for tips on how to change a PCV valve and it is pretty easy and cheap too! 4 bucks a piece! If you think yours is not due yet, try removing the PCV valve and shake it. If it rattles, it is still good. If it doesn’t, then it is time to replace.
